It’s a refrain to say that the Senegalese roads became angels of death. From January to August 2019, 18,390 victims were recorded, including 430 deaths in more than 110 82 firefighter interventions throughout the country. These staggering figures were leaked by Lieutenant-Colonel Papa Ange Diatta of the National Fire Brigade, reports l’Obs.
The newspaper indicates that for the month of August, the Dakar region recorded 536 traffic accidents, of which 692 were assisted and 15 people died out of a total of 707 victims. An average of 20 accidents per day during the month of August. And, always inform the newspaper, 65% of road accidents, Dakar and Thies-Diourbel axis remain accident-prone areas of the country.
