Amy Ndiaye picks up her speech again. Following her attack by her two colleagues from Yewwi askan wi (Yaw), the parliamentarian mayor of Gniby reacts for the first time. Since the events of the National Assembly, which resulted in the sentencing of Massata Samb and Mamadou Niang to a 6-month prison term, Ms Ndiaye finally speaks. Amy Ndiaye does not censor herself in choosing her words. And it is in a firm tone that she confided in the site Sanslimites, taken up by Dakaractu: « We are not in the National Assembly to defend dahiras or tarikhas. We play politics there! » A way, for her, to show the state of mind that drives her after the events that led to her hospitalisation at the Principal hospital for a few weeks.

The parliamentarian did not limit herself to that. Since she went on to indicate to the attention of those who agitate the argument of religion or brotherhoods to attack her: « We respect everyone. We are believers and Muslims, but we must know how to be reasonable. If someone talks about my party leader (Editor’s note: Macky Sall, president of the Alliance for the Republic), I have the right to respond by citing his, based on facts. » An allusion to the remarks made by her two colleagues from Yaw, launched within the Hemicycle against the spiritual guide of the Moustarchidines, and which earned him to be taken to task by the latter during the vote on the draft budget of the Ministry of Justice.

« I will resign from the Assembly if… »

Ms Ndiaye denies having mentioned the name of a religious leader in front of her colleagues and will even go as far as putting her resignation on the table, if it turns out true. « I never mentioned anyone’s name. If someone pulls out a recording of me saying the name of a religious leader, I will resign from the Assembly, » she suggested.

Amy Ndiaye Gniby recalled their mission. « At the level of the Assembly, we are all parliamentarians. We are supposed to represent the People, everything related to religion and brotherhoods should not be highlighted in the Hemicycle. My colleagues know very well what happened there and what their responsibility is in this matter. We need to be more positive and tolerant of each other, to show greatness and above all to learn to listen to each other, » she says.

The parliamentarian mayor of Gniby, a member of the parliamentary group Benno bokk yaakaar (Bby), did not fail to draw the attention of the public to the sensitivity of her favourite field: politics. In this regard, moreover, for Amy NdiayeGniby, people must know that they are doing « politics ». « We are in the Assembly with different political colours. This must be made clear! So when a person, regardless of their status or rank, expresses themselves in the political framework, we will respond in this sense! » she warned.

« I don’t have to give any details about my pregnancy.«
